Turned on some Clarke and Bell to save me Saw a lady selling drugs down on 152 Singing songs about God and the holes in her shoes Big fashion statements drilling holes in my head I'm a loser and a user if I don't wear red Paper or plastic in a prominent world
Doesn't even matter if you're a boy or a girl I see best with the lights down low Instead you blind the operator on this comical show So I turned on some Clarke and Bell to save me So I turned on some Clarke and Bell to take me away Who's to say the feelings that I feel they aren’t real? At least I throw them in the cloud to know how I feel Digital, mythical, hardly “indescriptable” Parodies of the lies that we tell ourselves My concrete heart needs some plastic love My brain is burning faster than a chemical shove Holy operator turn the dial down low I need to feel the love not just the chemical glow I need to feel the love not just the chemical glow Turned on some typical living Still spinning digital thoughts in my head Who's saying that we are willing We are the show We are the show So I turned on some Clarke and Bell to save me So I turned on some Clarke and Bell to take me away So I So I I need that analogue love Put the tape in the deck kind of love I need that analogue love
Put the tape in the deck kind of love So I So I Turned on some typical living Still spinning digital thoughts in my head Who's saying that we are willing We are the show We are the show So I turned on some Clarke and Bell to save me So I turned on some Clarke and Bell to take me away
So I turned on some Clarke and Bell to save me So I turned on some Clarke and Bell to take me away

Look at the view Lover it's so exciting Split into two Exploring the space dividing the memories of us (Whatcha think about?) (Whatcha think about that?) I tried to listen I tried to call But space has no forgiveness at all I did a run around Around the moon Just to hear you say that you love me too It's such a chore It's such a chore Burning gas to hear you say that you love me more Mmm that you love me more 'Cuz I'm a freak I'm a loser What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here I tried to listen I tried to call But space has no forgiveness at all I did a run around Around the moon Just to hear you say that you love me too It's such a chore It's such a chore Burning gas to hear you say that you love me more Mmm that you love me more Ground control to minor songs I've lost my will to live Without the love you give Ground control to minor songs I've lost my will to live Without the love you give (Whatcha think about that?) 'Cuz I'm a freak I'm a loser (Whatcha think whatcha think?) What the hell am I doing here? (Whatcha think about that?) I don't belong here yeah Ground control to minor songs I've lost my will to live Without the love you give (Whatcha think about that?)

about

“Clarke & Bell” is a tribute to the pop duo Erasure. But it’s more than that. It also cleverly intertwines that love-letter to Vince Clarke and Andy Bell with a few metaphors. The current era’s digital/AI foundation is put in stark contrast to the 1980’s analogue world tapestry, and ironically decreeing that synthetic decade as authentic reality, and conversely, all things of this current era being the actual synthetic/artificial universe.

The frantic song is about how ridiculous and frazzled this world has become and how the music of Erasure saves us from the shallow banality of today.

Adding more fun dichotomies are a major/minor-shifting main vocal tune, a frenetic breakdown and some deep and sexy, Barry White-esque, porn-tinged double-entendres that equate analogue equipment with sex acts.

The initial instrumental demo of this song was humourously entitled “Escape To The Island Of Rogue Sex Robots” (emphasis on escaping to, not from) and was very The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) sounding with a modern “synthwave” feel, but that slowly morphed into its final hi-nrg incarnation.

Stephano states, “We wanted to have a feel good song and include Erasure in it somehow (because they are the greatest pop duo of all time, Amen!) so Jordan went away and listened to some Erasure (happened to be “Love To Hate You”) and suddenly was struck with the inspiration of building this song’s idea. The analogue synths on Erasure’s Chorus album are so warm-sounding that you often forget you’re listening to a purely synth-driven album. And the melodies are immaculate.”

The single includes a new bonus track called “Star-Crossed,” which features Jordan on vocals along with Tareya, who dueted on the Breathe Of My Leaves single “Supernova Heart” this past winter. The moody “Star-Crossed” is a heartbreak song with a space-y vibe.

A 13-track album is imminent, now having a name and a release date (to be announced soon).
